Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital nears completion in Birmingham

IVC Evidensia is preparing to open the doors to its new £10m referral hospital in early November. The £10m Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital in Longbridge, Birmingham, is the group’s first purpose built multi-disciplinary hospital.

Accepting referrals from primary care practices across the UK, Blaise will offer a wide range of specialist treatments including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries, cancer treatment, specialist cardiology procedures, and a specialist-led anaesthesia service. There will also be a comprehensive emergency and critical care service offering ICU and out of hours care provided by IVC-owned Vets Now.

Built on the Longbridge regeneration site and the former home of the Austin car factory, Blaise will include state-of-the-art equipment, pioneering treatments and specialist-led extended clinical services including a custom-built intensive care unit for emergency and critical care, advanced imaging suite, oncology treatment wards and a number of modern operating theatres.

Recent appointments to the hospital’s staff include Hospital Director Julie Davis, who joins Clinical Director Andrew Kent after 15 years in the NHS, and Head of Diagnostic Imaging Carlos Aneslmi.
