Helen Binge - Clinical Workflow Coordinator
Helen Binge RVN Clinical Workflow Coordinator

Helen qualified as an RVN in 2008. She began her nursing career as a student nurse at a combined first opinion and referral hospital in Gloucestershire and, after qualifying, worked her way up within that practice to become the Head Theatre Nurse.

Over time, Helen developed an interest in anaesthesia and so moved to work exclusively in a referral teaching hospital in the South West. After nine years as a dedicated anaesthesia nurse, Helen was offered the opportunity to become the Hospital Flow Coordinator, a role she thoroughly enjoyed. This role led her to join the team at Blaise as the Clinical Workflow Coordinator.

Helen’s clinical interests are anaesthesia, analgesia, behaviour and advanced nursing procedures. Helen loves her role as Clinical Workflow Coordinator because she feels it allows her to prioritise patient care. “My job is all about promoting efficiency within the hospital. However, my main aim is to ensure thatevery patient is prioritised; their welfare is accounted for; and their needs are met to the highest possible standard. I believe it is our job to treat every patient who comes through our doors as if they were one of our own.”

When Helen is not working, she enjoys time with her four rescue dogs who she and her partner rehabilitate both medically and behaviourally. Marty is her old lurcher with a long list of medical ailments. Ezra is a deaf exempt American Bulldog who spent the first three years of his life in and out of rescue because, despite being friendly, he lacks some important social skills. Young Margot, who comes to work with Helen, was added to the family after being bred by a puppy farm with extensive congenital orthopaedic conditions, landing her in rescue with no one wanting her. Finally, late last year, Helen and her partner added Percy to the tribe as he fell under the XL Bully type and was destined to be euthanised. When not busy with the dogs, Helen enjoys gardening and renovating the house.
