Vassilis Chantziaras DVM CertAVP PgCertVPS DipECVS MRCVS Referral Veterinary Surgeon - Orthopaedics

Vassilis graduated from the University of Thessaly, Greece in 2010, where he then completed a surgical internship and developed a special interest in small animal orthopaedics.

Wanting to progress his career in surgery, Vassilis moved to the UK in 2012 and undertook several veterinary roles in general practice, emergency services and charity work that involved a high surgical caseload. He trained towards the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice via the University of Liverpool, which he completed in 2020.

Vassilis undertook ECVS small animal surgery residency training in the UK, which he completed in 2023 and became a European and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery in 2023. He is passionate about teaching and has presented in national and international meetings and has provided webinars and lectures in small animal orthopaedics. His special interests are joint surgery and minimally invasive fracture repair.

Vassilis is proud to be a member of the Blaise team and feels very excited to provide excellent orthopaedic services to clients, patients and referring vets utilising our outstanding hospital facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. He says, “I am fascinated by the treatment of bone and joint disease, allowing pets to regain their normal mobility and start to enjoy life again with their owners.’

Outside work, Vassilis is a busy dad to two young girls, he likes cooking, exercise, music and loves spending time with family and friends.
