New Referral Hospital Named

We are very pleased to announce the name of our new hospital in Birmingham. Named after the patron saint of veterinarians, St. Blaise was known for his kindness and empathy towards animals and his ability to heal them.

Who is St. Blaise?

St. Blaise was a 4th-century bishop of Sebaste (modern-day Turkey). There are many legends that surround his life, and one of them was his kindness to creatures and his ability to heal their wounds. He was a great man who treated every animal with great dignity. We have named our first new build veterinary hospital after St. Blaise as he is a Patron Saint of Veterinarians.

The hospital will be the first ‘greenfield site’ for IVC Evidensia in the UK and will be one or the largest specialist-led, multi-disciplinary veterinary referral hospitals in the UK.
