Three Heads of Service Visit Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital

Ahead of opening on Monday 6th November 2023, three Heads of Service visited Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital in Longbridge, Birmingham. 

Mike Farrell, Head of Orthopaedic Surgery, Jacques Ferreira, Head of Anaesthesia and Analgesia and Lara Dempsey, Head of Soft Tissue Surgery visited the newly developed hospital on Thursday 15th June 2023. 

The purpose of the visit was to take a tour of the new veterinary hospital they will be working at and to see the exciting progress undertaken in recent months. The team were suitably impressed with the site which will offer a range of specialist-led services in and around the Midlands region. 

Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital will be one of the largest multi-disciplinary referral hospitals in the UK, allowing the team to treat up to 10,000 pets per year.

Named after St. Blaise, patron saint of veterinarians, the Birmingham site will be our first UK greenfield site for IVC Evidensia. We will offer a collaborative approach to referrals, working alongside the primary care vet to ensure the best clinical outcomes possible, a more personal approach to client care, and an abundance of career opportunities for vets, veterinary nurses and non-clinical staff, as well as CPD and training for primary care vets and veterinary nurses.
