Xavier graduated from the University Cardenal Herrera-CEU (Valencia, Spain) in 2005. After completing a rotating general internship at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2008 he moved to the UK, where he continued his training with another rotating internship at the University of Glasgow and a specific internship in Cardiopulmonary medicine at the University of Edinburgh. Xavier completed his residency in Veterinary Cardiology at the University of Liverpool in 2016, and became a European Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology in 2019.

Following his training in Cardiology and prior to joining Blaise Veterinary Referrals, Xavier worked as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool and at the Royal Veterinary College, and worked also as a Cardiology clinician at a private referral hospital in the south of England. His main clinical interests are the diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathies and congenital cardiac diseases, with special interest in interventional cardiology.

Xavier says, “As a clinical cardiologist, I enjoy the balance between medical cardiology and interventional cardiology as well as always enjoying the challenge of managing complex cardiac emergencies".

In his spare time Xavier enjoys spending time with his family and friends, taking trips with his motorbike and is an avid sports fan.
