Ivan qualified from Trakia University in Bulgaria during 2009 and afterwards, worked in a first opinion practice as a veterinary surgeon until 2017. During 2017, Ivan became a lead veterinary surgeon and honorary lecturer at Pride Veterinary Referrals and the University of Nottingham. In 2018 Ivan joined a private referral practice in Surrey as an intern, and during November in the same year, Ivan gained a BSAVA Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.

During 2019, Ivan began his residency in small animal surgery in Surrey, which was completed in 2022. In February 2023, Ivan was granted European specialist status and undertook locum work for a short period. Ivan then worked in Hampshire for several months before joining Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital in November 2023.

Ivan’s clinical interests include small animal orthopaedics, limb deformities and fracture management and maxillofacial trauma.

In his spare time, Ivan enjoys reading science fiction and walks on the beach with his partner. He also has two cats, Chizmi and Arnold and dog, Hercule.
